At Dandelion Bee Supply, our mission is to support local beekeepers by providing high-quality bee supplies and helpful advice. We believe that healthy bees are essential for a thriving ecosystem and community.

As we bring Dandelion Bee Supply to a close, we want to take a moment to express our gratitude for the overwhelming support, encouragement, and kindness you’ve shown us. When we first announced our plans to close later this fall, we could not have anticipated the incredible response from our customers and friends. We are deeply thankful for the outpouring of support during this transition, and with that, the inventory has been sold and the shop is now closed.
Dandelion Bee Supply has a rich history rooted in dedication and passion for beekeeping. The business was founded in 2002 by Bob Safrit, whose vision and commitment helped countless beekeepers across North Carolina and beyond get their start. Bob’s love for bees and the community he fostered built the foundation that Dandelion has stood on for more than two decades.
We had the privilege of joining Bob in 2013, learning from his experience and sharing in his commitment to supporting the beekeeping community. In time, we were honored to continue the business he built and to carry forward his legacy of education, community, and love for the craft of beekeeping.
As we move into this next chapter, our focus will shift toward family and new opportunities. We will remain active in the beekeeping community -- continuing to keep bees, teaching new beekeepers, and staying involved with local bee clubs. Though the store itself is closing, our love for beekeeping and the friendships it has brought us will continue to be a meaningful part of our lives.
Our creative and entrepreneurial work will also continue to evolve and deepen in new directions. We will carry on through our work at June Dog Designs (www.JuneDogDesigns.com), offering engraved keepsakes, personalized gifts, and custom honey labels -- as well as through JDD Promos (www.JDDPromos.com), providing promotional products for businesses, schools, and organizations. We hope that our paths will cross as we move forward into this new chapter.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of this journey -- for your friendship, loyalty, and trust over the years. Serving the beekeeping community has been a true privilege, and we will always be grateful for the memories, friendships, and shared love of bees that made Dandelion so special.
